Filling in the Spaces: FitS 2019 Conference

I was given the great opportunity to speak at Syracuse University’s Library and Information Science Student Assembly’s(LISSA) Filling in the Spaces(FitS) event. For more information about this annual event, check out LISSA’s Day of FitS event

At the annual event, I wanted to encourage and inspire our future librarians.  I gave a presentation entitled, “The Introvert Network: tips on networking as an introvert in the library profession”.   In my presentation I discussed ways to identify an introvert, then my tips on networking, and networking tips given by other professionals. Lastly, I discussed the successes that I have gained from networking.

Recently, I was able to write about my “introvert network” on a platform that is near and dear to my heart, the WOC + lib website.  Check out my post: The Introvert Network.

This was just a taste of the information that I gave the students that day.  Hopefully, one day the networking tips that I have used during my first year of being a librarian can continue to help myself and my community.   Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or comments.
